Construction permit for Plant One
Friday, 31 December 2010 13:04

Besides its environmental permit, Plant One also needed to apply for a construction permit. Because the main building, built in 1962, no longer met the current regulations and standards, it had to be strengthened so items like a sprinkler system could be safely installed. This construction permit was issued at the end of December 2010.

Environmental permit awarded
Thursday, 30 September 2010 11:21

Plant One was issued an environmental permit in September 2010. Thanks to this umbrella permit, approval for starting up a pilot project is a question of six weeks at most, instead of six months to a year or more. Plant One informs DCMR Environmental Protection Agency Rijnmond about each pilot by means of an extensive information document containing all the relevant details. In addition, the regional fire service is also informed of each new pilot and any specific fire safety measures it may require.

Press release: Minister Verhagen opens Plant One testing facility
Monday, 23 May 2011 14:53

On 23 May, 2011 Plant One, a new testing and demonstration facility for sustainable process technology in the Rotterdam-Rijnmond region, was officially opened by Minister Verhagen of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation. The facility fills the gap between laboratory and full-scale production. Process improvements that look promising on a laboratory scale can here be tested on a pilot scale and further developed towards industrial application. Plant One fulfils a long-cherished wish of the Rotterdam region. The main objective of the initiators is to encourage and accelerate sustainable development.
