On 8 October, 2009, Plant One was granted a start-up subsidy. Thanks to the close cooperation between Carbon Stars, TNO, the Port of Rotterdam Authority, the City of Rotterdam, the Rotterdam Climate Initiative, Deltalinqs, Zuid-Holland Provincial Executive and the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the required start-up subsidy was awarded on 8 October, 2009. Plant One can now start work. Meanwhile, the company is holding talks with its first clients and with DCMR Environmental Protection Agency Rijnmond on the permit and expects to be opening its doors to the first project by mid-2010.
