Plant One facilitates projects that contribute to a sustainable world. Among Plant One’s partners is the Rotterdam Climate Initiative (RCI). One of the RCI’s objectives is to achieve a 50% cut in CO₂ emissions by the year 2025 relative to 1990. In addition, RCI wants to strengthen Rotterdam’s economy. Plant One combines these two aspirations: the pilots conducted at Plant One should help halve CO₂ emissions and strengthen the innovative capacity of the Rotterdam-Rijnmond port and industrial zone.

Plant One disposes over an umbrella environmental permit issued under the Netherlands’ Environment Licensing (General Provisions) Act, unique in the country for a facility of this kind. All the pilots of Plant One clients can be covered by this umbrella permit, which means those renting premises don’t have to wait weeks or even months for a permit. Plant One, which has its own Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) manager, guarantees a safe and healthy working environment for those engaged at Plant One and protects the local environment. In doing so, Plant One conforms to ISO 14001 environmental management systems and the VCA ‘HSE Checklist for Contractors’.
