Supply chain effeciency

Supply chain efficiency is concerned with the materials and energy consumed in each step of a product’s supply chain, from raw materials extraction through to final disposal or recycling. Supply chain efficiency, or Cradle to Cradle (C2C) design, seeks to achieve coherence and balanced development of the economic, ecological and social dimensions. The key issue is that the materials used should contain or embody no substances with an adverse impact on the environment or human health. In this way, at the end of their service life they can be usefully reapplied in other products – or be returned to nature to serve as food for living organisms. Loops are created: ecological loops and technological loops. Through appropriate management of these loops, businesses do not pollute the ecological system, while ensuring that resources aren’t depleted and that natural cycles remain closed.

Processes and technologies contributing to these objectives are among Plant One’s key goals.
